London Screeding
Holland Park Avenue central London location, made the external working area especially tight and restricted. Parking restrictions to the front of the property, meant that deliveries could be an issue. Consequently mixing of a traditional floor screed outside the property, or having it delivered pre-mixed was impossible.
The screed was to be laid directly onto a previously prepared substrate, which had water underfloor heating pipes laid onto.
Flowing screed was the answer to the site restrictions, a delivery made via a truck mixer. Which would only take around 30 minutes to discharge and pump into the building. This method did not take up materials storage space, having minimal impact on parking/traffic flow.
Tarmac Topflow Screed A which is a calcium sulphate flowing screed, was the obvious choice for this London screeding project. The screed was pumped using the latest Putzmesiter SP20 worm feed screed pump.
Light foot traffic after only 12-24 hours, keeps the site moving, and other trades busy.
Topflow Screed A doesn’t contain any cement and has an overall recycled content of 36%. Making the product one of the most Eco friendly screed on the market.
This substrate was prepared by others, and included a new water underfloor heating system. Taramc Topflow Screed A is the ideal screed for underfloor heating due to it’s high thermal conductivity, perfectly complimenting the heating system.
