Culden Faw Limited  specified an UFH screed (underfloor heating screed) to go on top of a previously prepared  wet underfloor heating system.

The project was a residential property on the Culden Faw Estate, which must be one of the most picturesque villages in the UK.

Extending to 24m2 at a depth of 70mm.    When dry, ceramic floor tiles would be laid directly onto the UFH screed.

UFH Screed

The historical pristine village local, meant that the UFH screed would need to cause as little impact as possible.   The storing of site mixed  screed was not practical, and certainly would impact on local neighbours.   Noise would be a further consideration, if impact could be reduced this would certainly be desirable.

When considering an UFH screed, it’s thermal conductivity would be very important too.

The solution was a calcium sulphate flowing screed.  Supplied locally from Tarmac,  Topflow Screed A ticked all the boxes

  • Nearly twice as thermally conductive as traditional sand and cement screed (greater system efficiency)
  • Truck mixer delivery, no materials stored on site.
  • Very little waste.
  • Less than 30 minutes to discharge and pump into the property.
